The 2007 IPRA Board of Directors and Section Election Ballots will be mailed on Friday, September 29th. All voting members of IPRA are encouraged to vote for the Board of Directors and Section Represenatives. This is your voice into the policy making governance of IPRA. Your elected Board Members and Section Represenatives represent your voice on the Board of Directors and Sections. As members of IPRA, this is your opportunity to select candidates that will represent the association in 2007.

The 2007 IPRA Board of Director Candidates are as follows:

Northern Illinois Representative (Choose one)

Robert Orsi, CPRP, Geneseo Community Park District

Chicago Metro - North Region Candidates (Choose one)

All members in the Chicago Metro Region vote for the Northern Candidate

John McGovern, NSSRA

Rick Schram, CPRP, Winnetka Park District

At-Large Board Member Candidates (Choose Three)

Laura Barron, CPRP, Lisle Park District

Carolyn Nagle, CTRS, CPRP, Fox Valley SRA

Ron Oestreich, CPRP, Bolingbrook Park District

Ron Salski, CPRP, Wheeling Park District

Members in the Southern and Central Illinois Regions do not have elections at this time. However, members in these regions should cast their vote for the At-Large Board Members and Section Representatives. If you are a Recreation Section member there is no offices up for election in 2007. You will not recieve a Recreation Section Ballot.

If you receive a Administration & Finance Section Ballot you are to choose FOUR (4) of the candidates for A&F Section Board Member.  Please mark FOUR (4) choices under this area or you may write in a candidate.

Here are some Ballot tips:

1. Make sure to only mark 3 candidates for the At-Large Board Member.

2. Make sure to “check” the box if you are in the Northern or Chicago Metro Region. Ballot without the box “checked” will not be counted.

3. Read the vitas on each candidate; either for the Board of Directors or Sections.

4. If you are unsure of your region, a map is located on the back of the “white” 2007 Board of Directors Ballot. Regions are determined by the county you work in.

5. All voting IPRA members vote for the At-Large Board Member position.

6. If you don’t receive a ballot or don’t receive a correct section ballot, please contact Dorothy Brink at dorothy@ILipra.org or 630-376-1911 extension 101.

Selecting your represenatives on the Board of Directors and Sections is an important part of your membership in IPRA. This is your opportunity to be a part of your association. Please, take the time and VOTE! We would like to see all voting members participate in this democratic process.
