Battle of the Bands now on MySpace

Posted on Monday 2 June 2008

Battle of the BandsThe IPRA now has a place for bands to learn about the annual Battle of the Bands competition in Springfield during the State Fair - as well as all the local and regional competitions.

Thanks to the dedication and help of Bobbi Nance of the Park District of Oak Park, we now have a great MySpace page for bands and those interested in coming to the concerts. In addition to the dates and locations of upcoming shows, the page also allows for bands to share their songs and videos from the concerts.

The MySpace page will be maintained all the time so if you have local competitions that aren’t listed please contact Bobbi. You can also share information at the Teen Committee meeting on June 17 at 11:30am at the Wilmette Park District.

Help us generate excitement about the Battle of the Bands. Let your whole staff, especially part-time staff, know about the site so they can spread the word to their friends online. The online presence of the Battle of the Bands should really increase band participation and attendance from their fans. In less than a week, the site has already had over 125 views and 3 bands have contacted us about playing at the local competitions.

This is a great idea! We could have the winners showcased on the site as well!

    Nice job!

    Bobbi, this is amazing!!!

I am glad that you were able to develop a place where not only we can get the information out to the teen population, but also a way that they too can communicate back to us about participating!

    Nicely done! :)
