Connecting Professionals, Educators & Students

It is important for the dialogue to continue regarding the future of the park and recreation profession between professionals, educators and students.  It may be your time to step forward and be a part of the discussion.  Join in on this interactive experiece, the annual College and University Relations Summit.  Discussion will center around current projects as well as projects for the following year.The group will meet for a social gathering on April 2 at the Village of Orland Park Sportsplex -Pizza for dinner, volleyball court and climbing wall will each be utilized for an hour.  After the events of the day, the student section officers will meet for their semiannual in-person meeting.

On April 3, the entire group will gather at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills to discuss the topics for this year’s summit.

  • Core competencies of the park and recreation profession
  • Session topics for the IAPD/IPRA 2009 Conference
  • Value of recreation and how it is perceived
  • Student recruitment

View the agenda and fax in confirmation form to Mike Selep at 630-376-1919 by March 20 to reserve your spot at this year’s Summit.  Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.  The goal has always been to receive a good mixture of students, educators and professionals for this event.  Lodging arrangements can be made for those individuals residing outside of an hour away from Hills.  Please contact Mike Selep at 630-376-1911 x206 or Donna McCaulley at 708-974-5227 if you have any questions.
