Join the world in turning off your lights for Earth Day on March 29th at 8pm.
Earth Hour is a global movement to bring awareness and deliver a message about the need for action on global warming. Last year, over 2.2 million Sidney, Australia residents and 2,100 businesses turned off the lights for just one hour - leading to a 10.2% energy reduction in the city!
This year, Earth Hour is going global. As of today, almost 200,000 people and 13,000 businesses have “officially” signed up to participate in Earth Hour. Signing up simply gets you resources and tools to help you get more involved with the cause.
So after work on March 29 be sure to turn off all your lights, unplug as many outlets as possible…and if it’s not SNOWING, go outside and recreate!
We’d like to go one step further and ask you to join us from 4pm-5pm on March 29 for an Illinois Park & Recreation Earth Hour!!! See what kind of difference you can make by simply turning off the lights at your agency.
Let us know, by posting a comment here, if you’ll be participating in Earth Hour.
