Greensburg Kansas Recreation Needs Assistance

Posted on Wednesday 23 May 2007

As many heard on the news the Town of Greensburg Kansas was recently struck by a tornado which devastated the town.  As they rebuild, parks and recreation is playing an important role in working to keep the residents active.  However, the recreation commission was also destroyed during the twister.  The dedicated professionals of Greensburg Recreation Commission are still working despite their own challenges.  However, they need assistance.  The attached list of items would help rebuild their recreation program and keep the residents recreating during reconstruction.  This is the vital role that parks and recreation plays in each and every community.  If you can assist please send items to:

Greensburg Recovery
Bruce Pinkall
Pratt Recreation Department
117 West Third, P.O. Box 807
Pratt, Kansas 67124

The Pratt Recreation Department will ensure that the Greensburg Recreation Commission receives the materials.

I’m going to ask around C-U and send stuff we have in our rural recreation inventory. Thanks for sharing!

The Oak Brook Park District is reviewing their current inventory and will have recreational items to donate. We’re inquiring to see if there will be a truck leaving from one of the Chicago area suburbs. Please call me at 630-956-2676. Thanks! Stan Motley, Director
