With temperatures climbing in to the low-100s we all need to be aware of the dangers associated with heat like this. Just the other day almost 200 phone calls were reported to Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications. Many of us found shelter at our local pool or beach to remain cool. Other visited the highly air-conditioned malls or movie theaters. I was pleasantly surprised to see some companies like ComEd handing out bottles of free water to thirsty people. Generosity like this goes a long way in my book.
