IPRA’s partnership with Shamrox rocks!

Posted on Wednesday 19 December 2007

Lacrosse ImageThe fastest growing sport in the country has hit Chicago by storm and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association is apart of it!

If you don’t know much about indoor lacrosse you will soon. The Chicago Shamrox indoor lacrosse team drew over 6,000 fans per game last year and as a new commercial member of the association they’re now giving IPRA members great discounts on tickets to their home opener. This is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to the game and see if it would be something the residents of your community would be interested in attending as a group.

IPRA members, call Ray Kincaid at (224) 699-2205 to get $7 off the game day ticket price to the Shamrox home opener on Saturday, January 5 at 7pm at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates. Discounted tickets range from $6 to $28.

Want to go for free? Text the word SHAMROX to 41411 for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the January 5 game. Five winners will be named on January 2 so get texting!

Shamrox games feature free game-day programs, the Shannon Rovers Bagpipers, post-game autograph session with the players and dance team and a theme for every game. Fight cabin fever this winter with a Chicago Shamrox Indoor Lacrosse game!

For more information about the Shamrox, call Ray Kincaid at (224) 699-2205.

The Shamrox games are a blast. There is so much going on that even if you don’t know the first thing about lacrosse you will enjoy the pace of the action and the atmosphere of the Sears Centre. Definately a must-see but I could be a little biased because I help out at the games, stop by and say Hi!

    ipra,
This sounds like a fun outing.
What can the Assn. bring to us members from this partnership in the way of starting community lacrosse programs?

    Arnie (and others),

We would love to speak with anyone interested in partnering with us over the Summer for a lacrosse program. Right now we are committed to a successful 2008 Season but come May we would be able to assist any Park District or Recreational Department with the Lacrosse Program.

Feel free to give me a call to review some of the options we have put together and share some of your expertise in hopes to better our lesson plan.

I’m interested in starting a girls lacrosse program in my area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
