IPRA researching social-networking site

Posted on Friday 16 March 2007

Do you use MySpace, Facebook or other social-networking sites? Find it useful to communicate and network with friends, colleagues, etc.?

The Illinois Park and Recreation Association is in the research phase of developing a site that is similar to MySpace, but for IPRA members only. From this site, you’ll be able to network with other professionals and section members while having the ability to manage your own profile and webpage - including a blog and forum.

If this sounds interesting to you, please let us know as we would like to further expand communication efforts and networking opportunities to IPRA members.

NOTE: We do not endorse MySpace or Facebook and we do not plan to develop or implement a site that is based on their objectives. This site would be for IPRA members only and would be monitored and maintained with strict safeguards.

I think it would be great to have more options to get the word out about things as well as somewhere to go to network with people.
