IPRA and IAPD are co-sponsoring the IPRA/IAPD Procurement Card Program through PFM Financial Services and Harris Bank. Procurement Cards are specialized credit cards issued to those employees who are responsible for purchasing materials and services.
Procurement Cards (P-Card) operate similiar to credit cards. They DO NOT carry a revolving line of credit and each agency can limit or authorize parameters via the internet for employees and the district. An agency will have access to all cardholder’s accounts 24/7. Plus, you recieve many other benefits and a rebate for purchases back to your agency. For the professional, no social security number is necessary for documentation because the card is issued through the agency and not the individual.
The IPRA/IAPD Procurement Card Program is beneficial to Illinois park and recreation agencies and professionals because this non-dues revenue program helps subsidize the member cost to the association through a royalty to IPRA and IAPD for their sponsorship. In other words, this type of program allows both IPRA and IAPD to develop and provide services to members that might not otherwise be available. Since dues only makes up between 33% to 40% of both associations budgets, you basically will be supporting your state associations with research, member services, programs and educational events that are vital to maintaining Illinois as a leader in the parks and recreation field on a state and national level.
Support your associations by participating and supporting the IPRA/IAPD Procurement Card Program through PFM Financial Services (the administrator of the Illinois Park District Liquid Asset Fund Plus) and Harris Bank. Visit www.powercardpfm.com for more information.
