McAdam elected Chair-Elect of NRPA’s GLRC

Bill McAdam ImageBill McAdam, Executive Director of the Oswegoland Park District and Past Chairman of the IPRA Board, has been elected by the NRPA Great Lakes Regional Council Delegates Chair-Elect for 2008. Bill will be the Chair of the Great Lakes Regional Council in 2009. Bill was the IPRA Chairman of the Board in 2006 and currently Past Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Nominations and Elections Committee. Bill is also Chair of the Governance Implementation Task Force that will develop the plan and strategies for the new governance structure of IPRA.

The Chair of the Great Lakes Regional Council oversees the operation of the Council throughout the Great Lakes which include both professionals and elected officials. The NRPA Great Lakes Regional Council is made up of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Iowa. The Council provides information to the National Recreation and Park Association through recommendations and currently is working towards implementing a strategic plan that will outline the goals and objectives of the Council in promoting the Great Lakes states through NRPA. The Great Lakes Regional Council is the largest regional council within NRPA and Illinois is the largest single state in NRPA with the most members.
