This Friday, September 22, the Illinois Park & Recreation Association’s 2nd annual Park Pursuit will take place in the beautiful Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. For those of you unfamiliar with the Park Pursuit, it’s like the Amazing Race reality show for park and recreation professionals! The Pursuit combines recreation, team building and healthy competition among agencies throughout the state.

What is the typical dress requirements for this activity? Shorts and a headband? Casual clothes? Open-toed shoes? I’ve never competed, and never really watched the Amazing Race?
JT, feel free to wear whatever you like as long as it’s comfortable. You will be given a short-sleeve Park Pursuit shirt to wear so you may want to think about wearing a long-sleeve shirt underneath if the weather stays cool.
I would definitely wear running shoes because the course is roughly 6 miles long and your team may decide to run/jog while on the Pursuit.
Thanks for participating. See you there!
Thank you!
