Preschool: Investment, Expense, or Imperative?

Preschool is rapidly becoming the next issue for the growing roster of issues in the public sector. Is preschool an investment in a community’s future or is it just another area to spend more tax dollars? Should preschool be considered an imperative, a requirement for all youngsters? While most parts of the country believe in the potential value of preschool, the issue revolves around available funding for such endeavors. Parks and recreation provides a range of programs and services supporting and continuing to the growth of this important life stage and as such have a stake in this discussion.
