Roaches Added to Fright Fest Menu

Posted on Thursday 21 September 2006

The promotions group at Gurnee’s Six Flags Great America announced that as part of their annual Fright Fest Halloween celebration people will have a tasty new treat to try. Fearless park-goers can opt gobble up a 3″ Madagascar hissing cochroach for front of the line access!

The Illinois Park & Recreation Association has sold over 500 tickets to park districts throughout the state for several of the Fright Fest dates. If you are still interested in getting tickets click here to download the order form. A special rate of $26 is being offered (versus the gate price of almost $57).

Please take pictures of you and your friends in the act of eating one of these discusting creatures and we’ll post them to the blog. Have fun and have a spook-tacular time!

Why would a professional organization encourage people to eat insects by offering to publicize pictures of them? It doesn’t seem appropriate.

It’s all in good fun Dawn. We didn’t create this promotion…we just thought it would be fun to see our members and their residents having fun at Great America’s Fright Fest. IPRA offers numerous professional services and opportunities for advancement in the field of parks and recreation. Sometimes we too need to have fun.
