Supervisors Are Dealt A Winning Hand

Posted on Tuesday 4 October 2005

IMG_0622rev The second annual Supervisor Symposium kicked off this morning with an inspirational speech by Tracey Crawford, of the North Suburban Special Recreation Association. Well over 100 park district supervisors attended the Tuesday workshops sponsored by the Recreation and Facility Management sections of IPRA.

The Supervisor Symposium offers a variety of sessions for younger park and recreation professionals, including internal marketing, recruiting fitness staff, helping volunteers help you, and dealing with youth parents, etc. A great roster of guest speakers has been planned and attendees this morning have expressed excitement about the workshops they were going to.

IMG_0614revEducation workshops like the Supervisor Symposium are one of the ways that members of IPRA strive to become the best of the best in the field of parks and recreation. A majority of the attendees accumulate CEUs when going to workshops as part of their goal of becoming a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP). Illinois holds one of the highest number of certified park and recreation professionals in the US!

If you have not attended the Supervisor Symposium or other IPRA sponsored educational workshops you are missing out. Check out the IPRA website for more workshops you can attend.
