Thank you Hurricane Wilma!

Posted on Wednesday 2 November 2005

Apologies to all for the lack of postings recently.

What was to be a beautiful wedding in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, for my wife’s sister became a two-week nightmare caused by Hurricane Wilma. I have a new respect for the power of a hurricane, especially a Category 5 hurricane…one that travels at a speed of 2 miles per hour! Thankfully the resort staff handled the situation magnificently and only minor injuries were reported. Despite being held-up in a convention center for about 60 hours with limited food and water, no air conditioning, collapsing ceilings, backed-up plumbing and almost 2,000 “refugees” with no form of communication with the outside world - we all made it home safely. I hope to have pictures made available for everyone’s viewing pleasure in the near future.

Again, I apologize for the lack of blog postings. -Matt White

Be prepared for the next hurricane video or find another one that’s similar. As the Boy Scouts say: “Be Prepared”!
