On this episode of theVOICE, Wheeling Park District's Director of Park & Recreation Services, Ron Salski, talks to us about how he got started in parks in recreation, what IPRA means to him, and his plans in 2009 as Chairman of the Board.

    Ron: I couldn’t agree with you more that we need to get a handle on our profession and the lack of quality students selecting parks and recreation and therapeutic recreation for their career. We have been talking about it for many years and I look forward to figuring out what we can do NOW to make a positive change. I know that we talk about parks and recreation and TR as a career opportunity with our 200+ summmer day camp staff. I hope others do the same. Good luck in 2009 and thanks for stepping up to Chairman.

    Nice job Ron,

    As Chairman in 2009 with a focus on directing additional qualified students/individuals to our industry and enhancing educational opportunites for professionals the future looks promising. Great luck as Chairman, you will do great.
